Five for Friday: Lego Government Buildings
ONE: I am admitting this to all my blogging friends because it is very "scary" to me...ALL week long I have been thinking that Halloween was on Thursday of next week. Seriously spooky! It's ok..now I have extra time to get this new high-frequency word book ready for my kinders.
TWO: My kids worked on these fall trees this week. The sheet isn't anything fancy, but you can get it by clicking on the picture. Hope that saves you some time. If you don't have foam leaves, your kids could paint fingerprints or glue on paper leaves. (You'll have to change leaves to leaf when there is only one of a color.)
THREE: I found these stamps for $1 at Michaels. My kids explored making patterns. Easy and quick center.
FOUR: Bosses day.. I had to send this to my beloved principals. It's good to keep a sense of humor, right?
Actually, a friend of mine (who also teaches Kindergarten) has suggested this for our daily stresses. Anyone out there have an opinion? Feel free to comment. Click on the link if you are curious.
FIVE: Here's the conversation that went on about this lego creation...
Me: What did you build today?
Kinder: It's a government building. You know, like on the news about the shutdown.
Ha! Guess it effected everybody, huh?!
Be sure to check out all Five For Friday posts.

Bloggers Help Bloggers
One of the best things about having a blog is "meeting" other teachers from all of the world. Recently one of my blogger friends shared that her son had been in a serious car accident. Having spent time in the hospital with one of my own children, I know the toll that the traveling, fast food, and worry can have on your spirit and your finances.
I've been using Kelly's ActivBoard products for two years. Every kindergarten and first grade teacher in my school loves the calendars. I'm giving Kelly a shout out because I know a few extra sales right now would help out. Please visit her store here:
You can read about her family on her blog:

Sick Day = Pinterest Professional Development Day
So I woke up this morning with vertigo...I'm pretty sure this condition is somehow related to teaching my precious kinders.
After the room stopped moving, and other details which I will not describe at this time, I turned to Pinterest. I'm convinced my sick hours should be counted as professional development time.
I found some great stuff. If you are into arts integration, or artsy-fartsy stuff, or just arts and crafts for your kiddos, check out these boards:
I also went on a pinning spree for some of my pinning pals.
Here's another one of my favorite collaborative boards:
And last, but not least, boards for my own blogs:
I hope you don't have any sick days soon. But check out my great finds as soon as you have some time to relax!
